Hi I’m Alan, but if your name is Betty you can call me Al! I live in Essex in the UK. I love folk music (I sing and play guitar), cats, food and being a grumpy old git! I also enjoy the occasional drink or three! I’m too old and lazy to play cricket any more but I still love the game and also enjoy watching football. I work as an environmental consultant, so I have a keen interest in environmental issues, particularly the impact of animal agriculture. I embraced veganism rather late in life, so I’m now working very hard to spread the message and make up for all those wasted years. Personality-wise, I think I’m a people person who can get along with folk from all walks of life. I tend to treat others with kindness and respect unless they give me a reason not to! While I have a serious side to my nature, I also possess a strong sense of the ridiculous which has a tendency to emerge at the drop of a hat!
